We are tenants and flatmates in NZ & Aust who want to know what it is like to live in a property before viewing/ signing up as well as how many rent increases have occurred and when (the date of increases will be more accurate over time).  

Renters & Flatmates - Rate your past and present rentals, anonymously and for free.

Follow these steps to give your ratings.  Alternatively send us the details described at step 2. to info.resteasier@gmail.com and we will add them for you. 

  1. Register/ log in
  2. Email info.resteasier@gmail.com proof you live/have lived there, for example, a bill with your name on it
    • we don't store this information
  3. We will quickly tell you when we have checked the information
    • we do this to prevent non renters/flatmates from creating false reviews 
  4. You login
  5. Search for the property
    • Not there?  Add or send us the details
  6. Select and enter your ratings and save

FAQ

Will my details be visible to anyone?

No. We initially need to see evidence, such as your signature on the rental agreement, or a document (such as a bill) with your name and the address of the property you want to rate AND a photo of you with either your driver’s licence or passport.

Do you keep any of my information?

The only information we keep is your login details. We do not store any other information. Please refer to our privacy policy on our web page.

How can my rating be anonymous?

It is only the ratings that appear and there isn’t a date stamp or any of your login details visible. If you prefer, we can load your rating information for you, providing you are able to provide proof that you lived at the property.

Can the landlord or property management company respond to ratings?

Yes. However, we have a set of guidelines for any comments. Also, they need to prove they are the landlord/ property management company.

Do I have to pay to rate, or view the ratings for, a rental?

Not for tenants/ flatmates. There is a charge for landlords/ property management companies.

What are the 7 categories that can be rated?

  1. Responsiveness – how responsive were the landlord/ property coy to any issues/ questions you had?
  2. Respect - how respectful were the landlord/property management company of your privacy e.g. following the standard notice for coming onto the property
  3. Information – how accurate was the advertising of the property?
  4. Condition – what was the condition of the property?
  5. Security – how safe did you feel in the property?
  6. Other Factors – e.g. noisy neighbours, close to public transport?

Can I send in pictures of the property?

Yes. You can send in one picture which we will load against the property’s address.

Can I send RestEasier rent charges, even though I’m no longer living in the property?

Yes. We can update the rent information, however, if you want to rate the property, you will need to log into RestEasier.

Do I need to validate I am a tenant/ flatmate for every property?

Yes. This is to ensure that the ratings reflect actual tenants/ flatmates experiences.

Can I write whatever I like in the comments?

The feedback from tenants and landlords is reviewed before being published against the following criteria:

  1. No abusive language
  2. Respectful and constructive
  3. No spam
  4. Clear and relevant
  5. No comments relating to disputes
